Before we begin, let me just get this out of the way: I am not an expert on TikTok. This is just based on my experience and observations of artists who have become famous on TikTok in the past few months. I’m trying to sum up what has worked for them and apply it to myself. As such, this “guide” isn’t perfect – again, just sharing what I think works best after observing these accounts closely.

Tiktok is a social media app where you can create short videos (15 seconds or less) with music and special effects — making short music videos like lip-syncing videos popular among teens and young adults (link to download: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zhiliaoapp.musically

  • A lot of people think videos on Tiktok must be funny or meme-related, but that isn’t really the case. The most successful accounts usually just focus on one concept and execute it well (I don’t recommend having multiple concepts in one video either).
  • If you’re more of a beginner at making videos, I definitely recommend keeping things simple. Go for an easy concept like lip syncing and focus on making each individual video as high quality as possible with good editing and great effects–even if they aren’t funny, those things will make your videos more memorable. That’s what I’ve noticed from popular TikTok accounts lately – not all of them are funny, but they all have high quality/memorable videos.

Buy TikTok Followers:

There are a few websites likes smfame.co.uk is best website where you can buy TikTok followers uk that will sell you followers if you want to boost your presence on TikTok. I have never bought from these sites, so use at your own discretion! :)
The other big thing you need to do is interact with your audience frequently. Comment and like others' videos, and even leave some longer comments if you can (like 2-3 sentences in a comment). Ask them questions - in the beginning it's a good idea to ask for their opinions on what songs or concepts you should use next. Sometimes people will take notice of that and follow back when you thank them for doing so! If there isn't a constant flow of interactions going on in the comments, your account won't grow as quickly.
You'll probably start off with around 200 followers or less, but don't be discouraged! It takes awhile before an account starts gaining real traction on TikTok. It took me months before I gained my first 100 followers, but now I have 110 at the time of writing this post. A lot of that happened in just a few days though - so if you work hard at it, you too can start having real success on Tiktok!
Make sure to use relevant hashtags when posting your videos (i.e., #hiphopheads for hip hop music). Don't overdo it with more than 3 or 4 hashtags (some accounts only use 1-2 hashtags per video), but it is definitely worth tagging your videos especially since hashtags are free engagement on TikTok. Make tags specific to the content of your video, don't just tag every single video you upload with "TikTok" because that will definitely hurt your account eventually.
If you're just starting out, try to get around 100-200 views on each video before moving on to the next one (you can always delete videos you don't like after uploading it). I like to watch the viewers' activity in real time while I'm editing my videos, so if there are a bunch of people watching at once it'll make me want to finish faster! :) Also remember not every single video has to be popular - some videos won't gain many views but they're still worth putting effort into for exposure and growing your audience.

Post Regularly: Try to post at least twice a week, but not more than 5 times. I usually just stick to posting twice a week and that's been working out perfectly for me lately.
Comment Often: This one might be difficult if you're just starting out, but comment in other people's videos and ask them in the comments what they think of your channel. It makes people feel special when you do this! Also leave longer comments on others' videos that are more constructive -- it gives off a positive impression of you even if they don't follow back right away.
Be Creative: Always try to have some sort of concept/theme to your videos - whether it's challenging another TikTok user or doing lip syncs with friends. Try to always add a unique twist to things!
Follow Back: there are apps out there that claim they will follow everyone who follows you, but it's usually frowned upon by TikTok. It is totally okay to try and get your first 100 followers with an army of fake accounts, but after that use real people whenever possible. Of course not everyone can be followed back - I don't follow back very many people at all these days because my account has grown so much in the past few months. But when I was smaller, I would follow back pretty much anyone who followed me if I had the time for it! :)

TikTok Tips from a FamYou’d Creator :

  • When you’re just starting out on Tiktok, use real people to get your first 100 followers.
  • Comment on other Tiktok users’ videos and leave longer comments that are more constructive – it gives off a positive impression even if they don’t follow back right away.
  • Make sure to utilize hashtags when you post your videos (i.e., #hiphopheads for hip hop music). Don’t overdo it with too many hashtags since 3-4 is usually enough.
  • Don’t be discouraged if your account doesn’t grow as quickly as some others because it takes time! Just keep posting quality content and growing your audience one at a time! If you work hard, success will eventually come! 🙂

Go viral:

This isn't easy to do, but it definitely does happen. If you end up on the Explore page on TikTok a lot, your views will explode and you can gain hundreds or thousands of followers in a short period of time. This has only happened to me once though - I was #5 on the explore page for almost 2 days straight because my video was very controversial/upsetting as well as meme-related (I'm not going to share it here).
My account gained over 1.7k followers in those two days alone! I didn't even know what had happened until people started messaging me about how my video went viral. That definitely won't happen to everyone, but if you're lucky enough -- that's a quick way
